In July I contacted Representative Bob Goodlatte, the chair of the Judiciary Committee where HR 3945 has been assigned – and stalled – since October of 2017.
Goodlatte’s office put me in contact with Joe Keeley. Keeley is the Chief Counsel of the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet of the House Judiciary Committee – and as Goodlatte’s office put it “the copyright expert.”
I have an in-person meeting with Keeley on August 16, 2018. I’m bring my attorney, Kathryn Goldman, and my legislative adviser. The goal is to tell my story and to put a face – and a clear example of the lack of protections artists have – to this issue.
